Funding has been dedicated by Government to small communities who are repeatedly flooded, in order to support more complex flood schemes when regular defences are not suitable.

The funding will be aimed at communities with 10 or more properties that have flooded at least twice in the last 10 years. The specific communities involved will be announced by the Environment Agency later this year.

Approximately 80 schemes are expected to be boosted by this funding, which will help more rural communities to adapt to the changing climate and its subsequent impact on flood risk.
