During this year’s Bike Week, which took place on 5th June, Derriford Centre for Health and Wellbeing (DCHW) supported colleagues who cycle to work with a complimentary breakfast of cereals, croissants & yoghurts. Staff were offered access to the changing facilities, new bike storage and heated drying lockers.

Staff will also be able to try DCHW’s electric bikes for free at lunchtimes this summer, if they register with DCHW as a colleague member. For those worried about their fitness, DCHW is offering an ‘I’m not fit enough to cycle’ Scheme for free. People can use the gym for a month to build up fitness and confidence before hopping on one of DCHW’s lightweight bikes to get pedalling to work or the shops.

Lots more information about cycling to work can be found on the choosing greener programme website including how to hire a pool bike, information about electric bikes, locations of cycle parking etc. Staff can sign up using the following link: https://choosinggreeneruhp.greenrewards.co.uk/
