This month, North Devon has been benefiting from free Sunday bus travel to promote public transport and encourage exploration. Starting on June 2nd and continuing on June 9th and 16th, residents and visitors are able to take advantage of this offer on all services to and from Barnstaple.

This initiative, facilitated by the DevonBus Partnership in collaboration with operators Stagecoach and Filers Travel, is made possible through funding from the Department for Transport (DfT). Its aim is to inspire more people to use buses for leisure, facilitating local exploration, visits with family and friends, and enjoyment of the picturesque North Devon coast without the burden of transport expenses.

Peter Knight, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing its benefits for the environment and the local economy. By eliminating Sunday travel costs, they hope to alleviate road congestion, reduce carbon emissions, and bolster support for local businesses by facilitating easier travel for residents.

Timetables are available via Stagecoach South West.
