New Sections of Tarka Trail to Boost Active Travel in Devon
23/12/2025

Work is underway to complete more sections of the Tarka Trail’s ‘missing link’, creating a continuous, safe, and accessible route for walkers and cyclists between Braunton and Meeth. This project will fill gaps in the existing trail, improving connectivity for communities and encouraging sustainable travel across North Devon.
The scheme supports Devon County Council’s ambition to make active travel easier and more attractive, reducing reliance on private cars and cutting carbon emissions. By linking rural communities and providing a high-quality route for leisure and commuting, the Tarka Trail improvements will help deliver long-term benefits for health, tourism, and the environment.
