A summary of the Sustainability Hub.
An overview of the Future Shift: Low Carbon Devon and Internship programme.

Established to help organizations better understand their role in achieving net-zero, the University of Plymouth’s Sustainability Hub is an ongoing facility which offers businesses, social enterprises and community groups the opportunity to learn about how they can engage with sustainability, drawing on the expertise of researchers and students. The Hub runs events (such as this upcoming B-Corp event) to help enterprises to switch to low-carbon methods and engage with the University of Plymouth’s low-carbon agenda.

The Sustainability Hub itself is a so-called “living lab” where innovative approaches to reducing carbon emissions can be trialled. Working on projects such as green-wall technology, decarbonizing creative industries, rethinking power electronics and managing building efficiency, the sustainability hub currently hosts four industrial research fellows working on sustainable solutions. They also offer grants of up to £7,500 to help Devon enterprises develop new products or services for the low-carbon sector. Read more about the Devon Net Zero Innovation Fund on their website.

This incredible facility offers fantastic opportunities to bring research and knowledge about how we can best tackle the climate crisis into public view, where it stands a chance to make a real difference to enterprises across Devon. We will be keeping an eye as more exciting initiatives come out of the Low Carbon Devon Sustainability Hub!
