The South West Net Zero Hub has worked with Devon County Council on a project to develop a simplified number of rural housing archetypes to support market development of retrofit across the county.

The project simplifies an estimated 140,000 housing archetypes to just 12 in order to gain a better understanding of how to improve engagement from homeowners for retrofit measures.

These archetypes provide guidance for the most appropriate measures and costs to achieve carbon reductions in each type of rural home. Overall, this work aims to increase the delivery of retrofit measures in Devon.
