Innovative ‘Take Charge’ technology has been installed at Moto’s Exeter motorway services, making electric vehicle (EV) charging easier for both service station operators and customers.

Western Power Distribution have invested £1 million in the Take Charge Project, which provides 12,000kW of capacity in a ‘one size fits all’ solution, allowing up to 80 EVs to charge simultaneously.

If the project was rolled out to service stations nationally, savings on EV installations could exceed £33 million. This would make widespread EV use both more affordable to implement and more accessible for individuals, which would consequently help to reduce the use of everyday transport that is reliant on fossil fuels.
