East Devon District Council’s 25-year masterplan to turn Clyst Valley Regional Park into a wildlife haven has been shortlisted for the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards 2022, in the category ‘Excellence in Plan Making’.

The plan has been recognised for several reasons. It has been created alongside extensive community work through two £200,000 lottery projects, which are ‘Great trees in the Clyst Valley’ and ‘Routes for Roots’. It also focuses on sustainability and promoting wellbeing, such as by working towards 30% tree cover in the Clyst Valley by 2050.

How is this helping Devon reach net-zero?
