Net zero carbon centre officially opened at Exeter Science Park
10.06.22

Funding from the Government’s ‘Getting Building Fund’, allocated to Exeter Science Park by the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership, has been used to construct the brand new George Parker Bidder building to net zero carbon standards.
The building has now been opened, and a tree chosen for its high capacity to store carbon (its Latin name being Zelkova serrata) was planted to commemorate the event and to celebrate Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Now that the building has been opened, it will support several tenants and contribute to the Park’s goal to become net zero.
How is this helping Devon reach net-zero?
Action B15. Anchor institutions to deliver net-zero new build to set an example to other regional organisations and establish the South West as a leading region for low-carbon buildings.
