Exmouth Town Council has installed two new water-refill stations in an effort to encourage the use of reusable water bottles and discourage single-use plastics.

Plastic water bottles are made using fossil fuels and, if not disposed of carefully, can cause harm to the natural environment.

One refill station has been installed near the train station and the other near the water sports’ centre. Installing refill stations not only encourages sustainable behaviour, but also enables more active travel and promotes healthy choices for commuters.

How is this helping Devon reach net-zero?

Action R1: Deliver ongoing, targeted communication and engagement to empower all social groups in Devon to act on the impacts of how things are made and distributed by promoting more sustainable consumption habits, the prevention of waste (particularly food) and a shift to a culture of reduction, reuse and recycling.
