Four Plymouth bus routes are receiving significant service enhancements thanks to funding from the Department for Transport’s Bus Grant for 2025/26. Starting 31 August, Service 14 will now operate on Sundays and bank holidays, connecting the city centre and Derriford Hospital via Devonport, Keyham, and Beacon Park. From 26 October, Service 42/C will run every 15 minutes on Sundays and bank holidays, improving access between the city centre and Derriford Hospital. Additionally, Service 16 will extend to St Budeaux Square on weekdays from 27 October, responding to community requests for better links to shops and health services.

The Council will also continue funding Service 2 for another year, with Stagecoach committing to maintain the service commercially until August 2027. These improvements aim to make public transport more accessible and attractive, encouraging residents to choose buses over cars and supporting sustainable travel across the city.
