A new Environmental and Marine User Policy has been announced by the English Riviera UNESCO Geopark in Torbay. To mark the occasion, the Geopark announced this new policy on Earth Day, ahead of a community beach clean.
The new Environmental policy will enable the Geopark, as well as its partners and visitors to lead by example, reduce environmental impacts, and enhance and protect the environment, ecology and geology of the area.
The new Marine Use Policy will help to educate users on appropriate ways to enjoy the marine environment within the park, protecting the fragile ecosystems and wildlife in the bay’s waters.
These policies will help the Geopark fulfil their commitment to supporting 17 UNESCO sustainable development goals, as well as helping to create a carbon neutral Torbay by 2030.
