Devon County Council Receives £200K To Fund Decarbonisation
13.08.24

Devon County Council has been awarded £200K from the Local Net Zero Capacity and Development Fund by the government-funded South West Net Zero Hub. The funding will be used to develop two projects in Devon; creating a decarbonisation plan for Heathfield Industrial Estate in Bovey Tracey and exploring the development of solar energy on previous landfill sites across the county.
The project in Bovey Tracey will be carried out in partnership with Teignbridge District Council and focus on renewable energy with the hope of replicating successes on other industrial estates in future.
Securing this funding brings Devon County Council one step closer towards net zero by reducing Devon’s dependency on fossil fuels.
