After identifying a skills deficit in regenerative farming methods, the Apricot Centre was supported by Devon County Council to deliver a free pilot training programme in sustainable farming to anyone interested in changing careers or entering the sector.

The programme provided the knowledge to meet local skills shortages over 40 days of training, ensuring more workers can fill vacancies and aid the transition to regenerative farming. A total of 23 people have achieved a certified Ofqual accredited course at level 3 in Regenerative Land Systems.

It is estimated that the continued use of the regenerative farming methods taught during this programme will lead to a reduction in carbon emissions of 430 tonnes per year. The training is expected to run for a minimum of three more years.
