National Park seeks Views on walking, wheeling and cycling on Dartmoor
07.11.24

Dartmoor National Park want to give people the best opportunities to access Dartmoor. By providing safe, well connected active travel routes we can help you enjoy the National Park as part of a healthier lifestyle; support our goals in tackling climate change with more low or no-carbon transport solutions; and, ensure people who live and work on the moor benefit from safer travel. The organisation have been given £100,000 by Active Travel England to help them get there. The funding will enable the national park to work with other organisations, including Devon County Council, to explore good walking, wheeling, cycling and horse riding routes across Dartmoor. Dartmoor National Park have set up a dedicated webpage with a map where you can drop a pin, draw a route and share your suggestions. For example, you might know of an existing route that needs improving; one that’s suitable for mobility buggies or perhaps there’s a route you’d love to see developed. They’re interested in hearing about things like cycle parking, improved way markings and safer road crossings too. Share your thoughts by Sunday 24 November.
