Cutting edge designs produced for net-zero fishing vessels
A report from Fisheries Innovation & Sustainability (FIS) sets out six pioneering designs for net-zero fishing vessels, produced as a collaboration between Macduff Ship Designs, the University of Exeter’s Centre for Future Clean Mobility (CFCM) and FIS.
Designs cover under 10m creel boats, 15m Nephrops trawlers, and under 24m whitefish trawlers. They draw on alternative fuel options including battery electric, methanol, and LNG (Liquified Natural Gas).
