Connecting the Culm receives grant for green finance

The Connecting the Culm project, which works with nature and local communities in the River Culm catchment, has been awarded an £84,000 grant by DEFRA’s Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund (NEIRF) to help develop green projects for investment.
The nature-based solutions that will be supported by this grant will be used to achieve a range of environmental outcomes for the River Culm, including the provision of £2.6 million carbon benefits over a 50-year time span among others. To work towards this, the NEIRF project will be undertaken from September 2022 to June 2023.
