Works are underway to improve biodiversity and education outcomes of the Lower Hoopern Valley, a 38 acre plot to the south of the University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus. This follows public consultation in May and November of 2023.

Existing habitat is being managed and restored to maximise wildlife. This includes a restored pond, clearance of invasive species, and removal of litter. Additionally, changes will involve adding paths, bridges, entrances, and seating to increase the availability of green spaces for the community. The project also creates research opportunities for the Russell Group institution.

Members of the public are encouraged to use alternative routes while construction is being completed.

More details of changes can be found here.
