£12 million of Government funding has been spent by the Environment Agency and East Devon District Council to build new flood defences and improve existing ones in Exmouth.

The tidal defence scheme now has 28 flood gates, and the work has reduced the chance of flooding every year from 4% to 0.5%. This accounts for rising sea levels resulting from climate change.

How is this helping Devon Adapt To Climate Change?   

This is reducing the risk to Exmouth from sea level rise.
