1. Minutes of the previous meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were agreed as an accurate record.

All matters arising are scheduled for discussion on the main agenda.

2. Adaptation Strategy Feedback

Emily confirmed that the consultation is live. The webinar was successful on the 16th May. It was attended by about 60 people at its peak, which included representation from a range of private and public sector organisations.

The consultation was advertised at the County Show and on the 17th May at the Devon Community Resilience Forum.

The press release has been picked up by the Sidmouth Herald.

The radio advert is live.

The most common way people are hearing about the consultation is via organisation newsletters and community social media platforms.

ACTION: All to share the consultation with their networks.

Emmanuelle mentioned that there doesn’t appear to be a Strategic Direction about water availability in the Plan. Also, that some jargon still needs to be explained – such as minimum till cultivation.

ACTION: Emily to incorporate Emmanuelle’s feedback into final document.

3. AOB

Emily raised the Adverse Weather and Health Plan. Emily will arrange a presentation about this.

Emily will also arrange a presentation from the Devon County Council Flood Risk Team to reflect on the flood events in East Devon in May.

Emmanuelle suggested learning more about the Committee on Climate Change Adaptation Monitoring Framework at a future meeting.
